Shall we make fabric spring chicken? This project for sure make perfect tiered tray accessory in the Spring. I am positive it will also work as shelf sitter. Shall we go to work? Let’s make NO-Sew fabric chicken!
Supplies needed to complete that Spring Easter decor
- ( ideally 12×12 square )
- poly-fill
- felt
- hot glue gun and glue sticks
- ” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>embellishments
Let’s go to work
To make fabric spring chicken project run smoothly for you let’s start with 12×12 square. I just happened to leftover pillow case piece that was used to make my Rag Tree. You can read about it HERE later. Half of that square will be enough
Cut your felt into a shape of chicken beak and lets not forget about comb too. Place them on the right side of your fabric as shown below . We are going to be flipping our creation inside out to expose crisp print in the next step
You can cut as big or as small pieces as you like . I happen to keep it within 2 inches.
Make sure to check if your comb and beak are nicely align. I am so excited for this Spring Easter Decor ! Aren’t you?
If you follow me for some time you know that i don’t really sew so it is time to put hot glue to use and seal edges .
Moment of truth! Let’s hope all will work
Make sure to let your glue cool completely before you flip our fabric chicken
fill the body of chicken with poly-fill or any soft material you have and close the back of it with hot glue. That portion is tricky since you need to fold ends to the inside to make sure you have nice edge.
Don’t you think our no-sew fabric chicken look super cute already! You could use tiny beads for eyes as I did or simply use sharpie for that
Super happy how my chicken is turning out. Cant wait to try to accessorize with it on my Tiered tray! Don’t you think my fabric chicken will be perfect as accessory for tiered tray?
Little pocket for spring necessities like mini eggs or flowers under my chicken beak could be helpful . I had so much fun accessorizing that i decided to add some legs out of macrame rope
