Book Pages Christmas Tree DIY
I was always admiring all those book pages creations on Pinterest and always wanted to try to make one but there was always BUT …ha ha ha. Couple of months ago I made my first book project. It was a pumpkin that I called Enchanted …you can check all details HERE Today I like to share with you my new book page project Christmas Tree diy. Things that you need to complete that project
- Thick book ( ideally 400 pages) Dollar Tree has lots of them
- X-Acto knife or utility knife
- Paint
- Hot Glue and glue stick
- some seasonal decor
Le’s go to work shall we?
Remove front and back cover of your book and let’s decide on the shape, style of our tree. Have to admit it wasn’t easy task. Didn’t want me book to be boring so lots of branches was something that I like to have. Took a pencil and stared to sketch some shapes. My goal was to use as much as I can each page.
Let the fun begin ….lol but before that I need to find a shape of my tree
It wasn’t easy as you can see …some branches were too spread apart ..some of them were to pointy or too deep into the core of my book/ tree ..ha ha ha.
After trying for some time and seeking help on my Facebook page I made decision! I was hoping that it will work at the end. Let the work begin! Start to cut/ follow your draft shape with your X-acto knife or utility one. Cut up to 4 pages at the time to make it easier.
Just take your time cutting pages and be careful. X-Acto knives/blades are super sharp and can be very dangerous. Enjoy your project as you go to make sure it is what you like.
As I was working on my book pages Christmas tree I realized that utility knife wasn’t doing such a good job on the details ..it is better for the bigger areas.
I am warning you ..it is messy but soo worthy! Don’t worry about all those imperfections as you cut you can clean those up at the end. p
Let’s make our Christmas tree diy pretty.
I like to add some color to the edges of my book so this time I used spray paint in the pale brown color. As you can see it is perfect for outdoor furniture too ha ha ha . I didn’t want to coat all evenly so gentle sprays were enough for me.
When paint dries it is time to connect your book pages and add a tree trunk. Hot glue gun will do a great work. I chose to use wood slices that were available at the Dollar Tree.
And we are done! I am really pleased how my Dollar tree Christmas tree beautifully opens up. As you can see I added some decor already. Didn’t plan on any lights on my tree but have to admit I love it! My topper is just simply ornament from Dollar Tree.
my daughter threw some of Dollar Tree garlands on it too … Have to admit it does look good! You can decorate or leave it bare all it is up to you.

I love how rustic the tree ended up looking. Fun way to recycle old romance novels 🙂
