Beehive Gnome
It seams every year I get stuck on some motives .. This year it seams all is about yellow .. gold included. If you follow me for some time you do know I love little details of gold here and there. Summer is all about bright cheerful colors .. it is all about outdoors. It is always fun to have some cute candle holders decorating summer tablescapes. I have tons of them but I was on the mission to make some more. Bees and gnomes are lately on my mind so it was time to finally make something with them. Shall we make a beehive candle holder and its partner gnome? Let make fun twine summer diy.. shall we ?
Supplies needed to make beehive candle holder and gnome
- wine glass
- twine
- piece of fur
- embellishments
- hot glue and glue sticks
Let’s go to work !
As always most of the crafting I do with my friends on Facebook so you can see it being done live HERE .Love to bring my projects to my blog since it is easier to find for sure.
I have made several beehives already . HERE is one of my first ones
So as you can see have all supplies lined up and ready to craft. Wine glass turned upside down will make awesome candle holder and for my luck it does have a nice beehive shape.
My goal was to wrap my wine glass with twine to create a base for the beehive. Starting from the bottom with small amount of hot glue and dots of it here and there as I was going up to stand was enough to have solid looking beehive.
Just because I like to paint the top of my glass of course with some kind of pattern … my twine wrapping stopped right at the base of stand.
There will be no beehive without opening so nice loop of twine painted black was great idea at least I think
Little floral embellishments and my beehive candle holder is done … Now let’s move to gnome. Learn with me how to make easy beehive gnome .. Isn’t he cute? Don’t you think those will make cute summer tablescapes.
How to make beehive Gnome
As you can see I have random pieces on my table to make a gnome. Decided to use succulent pot that didnt have succulent anymore and paper seeding pot….. yup it is me I use what I have near me that acutally could help me with my project
As it was with my beehive candle holder my goal was to use pot for my gnome hat that will be actually beehive and little plastic pot was its body.
You can see all details in the video below. As you can see hat of my gnome looks super similar to my candle stick I just made few minutes ago
Little wooden beads of course accented with gold that will be my beehive gnome feet and nose and I am all done.
