Supplies needed
- paper towel rolls ( one will be enough to make 2 flowers )
- wire
- hot glue and glue sticks
- paint of your choice
- scissors
Super excited to share steps for this paper towel flower DIY! I am going to be using 2 paper towel tubes since I do want to make my own pic for my cloche display
I like to cut one of my paper towel tube in half and paint both sides
As you can see I only painted one coat .. Love its rustic feel but you do you .
When all is dry sketch shape of your petals .. I like to make rounded ovals that are slightly indented in the middle. As you can see below .. Nothing needs to be perfect
Second paper towel tube I left unpainted but sketched same shapes BUT SMALLER on the half of it. The other half will be used for the center of the flower
Creating a center of your paper towel flower
I cut 1 inch strips form my half un- painted tube and fringed as you can see here almost to the end. Roll that back into a tube and secure with hot glue gun. This will be our flower center.
All is set so now we can assemble paper towel roll flowers
Grab your wire but you don’t have to . You can “sandwich” all with hot glue only. It all depends on how you like to use it
My intention for this creation was to add some detail to my picked through pick
I liked for my flower to have dimension so I decided to use my 2 unpainted pieces faced down on my wire criss crossed as you can see below
Add 3 painted petals going other direction as it shows here
Hot glue or insert your rolled up center to your flower . Make it big or make it small .. I like to mix it up especially because I was working with a small vine
and one of your flowers is done! How pretty!
I like to create all different variation of paper towel flowers depending what I work with . I make them big and closed up or all open . Use your imagination. Love to buff them with some gold or wax at times too. Paper towel floral transformations are my favorite
