Toilet Paper Weaved Heart inspired by MacKenzie Childs
If you follow me for some time you do know I love good budget friendly projects. So today we will be making a 3D heart made out of toilet paper or paper towel roll. Who doesn’t love good toilet paper craft ? No me ….lol. I promise we will change those rolls into one stunning beauty. I absolutely loved making those weaved hearts growing up. Just had a chance to refresh my skills few days ago on a Facebook with my Facebook friends . Not going to lie I was a bit afraid if I remembered all but as they say if you learn how to ride a bike when you are young you will still remember later.
Those toilet paper weaved hearts are not only perfect little detail to have on display on your tiered tray or as a shelf sitter around Valentines day. They also make awesome ornaments, pieces of your garlands or if you attach a tassel they make awesome door hangers.

How to make weaved 3D heart
There is not much you need to make this heart .. I bet you have all supplies at home .
- toilet paper roll or paper towel roll
- hot glue
- scissors ( aff)
- embellishments
Time to go work.. I am going to use my paper towel roll since it will be easier to show you step by step instructions
- start with folding your paper towel in half and making a cut so now your paper towel turns to 2 equal parts
you could use a machine to make precise cuts but I love wonky and am using my scissors. Folding your tube helps to mark your cut lines
Just because I would love to make MacKenzie Childs inspired 3D weaved heart out of my paper towel tubes I stopped my cutting now and decided to paint my halves black and White. Never tried it before but you do know I love to experiment

All is dry so it is time to cut some more. Grab your halves of paper towel rolls and keep on folding in half until that half turns into 4 stripes . Check pictures below
My pieces are cut .. I have 4 black ones and 4 white ones. .. Time to make easy toilet paper or paper towel roll 3D weaved heart
Step to weave your paper towel into heart
Grab 2 pieces in my case I am using one black and one white and hot glue them right at their end at 90 degree angle as it shows below. Make sure to attach them even so it looks as neat as it can
I like to start with one side first to keep all easier . So I started with black strips and installed them one under white and one over white .. see below
and then it is time to do other color same way … and as you do so weave that side into other .

Ok , now to turn your project over and repeat steps again .
This time you start from the top as it shows below and hot glue and weave as you go
TOILET PAPER ROLL CRAFTS ARE THE BEST
and now my heart is done ! My first MacKenzie Childs inspired pattern weaved toilet paper heart looks so good.! Super proud of myself .. so happy.
Now it is time to clean all up … make some paint touchups and preserve
Time to preserve and add some shine to my paper towel heart so some gold touches can happen 🙂
