Rustic Valentines Day Decor Idea
Valentines day is around the corner and everyone is seeking ideas to make it more special for their love one. I am not really big on Valentines Day Decor but I do some. Most of what I do is neutral , easy to keep around all year round as a part of your home decor. I love color in flowers on that day the most if you know what I mean. Just because Farmhouse rustic style is my favorite I like to show you my take on the Valentines day decor. Without further delay I like to start with a heart- symbol of love . Let’s make Valentines day rustic heart sign. As I was looking around my craft area for some materials to use buttons were the ones I decided to use

Supplies needed for our Valentines Day Decor
- buttons
- spray paint – gold and silver
- hot glue gun and glue sticks
- wooden board ( I used Dollar Tree small sign)
Let’s begin to work on our buttons heart sign
Since I only have white buttons I decided to paint them a bit and add some rustic touch to it. I am on the mission to make them look slightly metalic
I was positive gentle coat of Krylon Lookin Glass silver would do it but they didn’t have that feel I was going after … They look too cold for me … What do you think?
When my first coat of spray paint dried I decided to spray over with some metalic gold to bring some warmth to my buttons. Rust-oleum Metalic Gold is very gold so I decided to spray paint them from further distance just to gently coat them with gold
and now I am really happy the way they turned out. I think we are ready to make Valentines day rustic heart sign finally .
At the beginning I thought I would use wooden block I had laying around but that not finished board from Dollar Tree looked good too especially because it was already painted. All I needed to do was to pencil my heart so it will be nice and even.
In order to keep nice shape of the heart I decided to start with the smallest buttons and fill inside with mix of sizes. To have a bit of dimension to my heart I decided to layer them in some areas. Love the way my rustic heart is taking its shape.
Simple twine bow simply made it for me .Love my button shaped rustic heart !
This project was really relaxing so I decided to make another version on the different background. Don’t you love that rustic Valentines day decor idea? Who said it has to be pink or red?
This time I mixed just few of my painted buttons with white and top my heard with my folded bow
Here is a quick video on how to make that bow
now I have a set
