Items needed to make honeycomb heart
Let’s begin and make our HONEYCOMB paper heart DIY
Get your paper ready. For this project I used only 2 sheets of paper . My goal was to have a really full heart

I freehand my hearts by simply folding my paper in half and let me tell you those folds are really important later in the process of making our paper honeycomb heart

Let’s make our heart assembly super easy by simply folding on the angle sides of our freshly cut paper heart. Those will be our markings for next step
As you can see that I repeated those folds on both ends so now I have 3 folds that will be super helpful in the next step. One fold in the middle is the one we made cutting our heart . Then I also created a cross shaped folds

I know there are lots of hearts to fold but I did that in groupings using one folded heart to be my template to fold all so things move super smooth. So excited to put all together

So let’s begin assembly process by folding hearts back to half . My go to glue for this project is Tacky glue but if you choose to make one out of felt you could use a bit of hot glue
Assembly of honeycomb paper heart ornament

As your heart is folded in half you can clearly see our folds on which you need to add a dot of glue

and begin to layer your folded hearts. Don’t worry about the middle portion yet .. we will address that in the next step

My hearts are nicely lining up. Just because I am using tacky glue I decided to wait and glue my hearts in stages

Hearts are connected and now it is time to make that honeycomb pattern. That means we need to open our stock to full heart as you see on the picture bellow

Place a dot of Tacky glue right in the middle and let it dry. Repeat that step on every full heart

Ok , all is finished and it is time to glue all togehter. Just because I ended on 2 dots as my last heart that is what I did.

I will encourage you to hold that part a bit until glue settles to make sure that honeycomb heart stays open

Time to add a little hanging element but of course it is optional ..
