Drop Cloth Tulips
So I found a drop cloth in my stash recently so decided to craft with it a bit. Cant wait to try it out and see what I can make out of it. It was a long time since I made fabric flowers. Shall we start with easy drop cloth flowers since that is what i have on hand? How about drop cloth tulips? Grab your fabric and start making flowers with me!
Supplies needed to make tulips
- drop cloth
- poly fill or paper towels
- hot glue and glue gun
- dowel or skewers
Let’s make drop cloth flowers
Love to craft with drop cloth!. There are so many things you can do with … You can decoupage , stencil or even paint on.
Today I like to show you how to make tulips super easy way out of drop cloth or any fabric you may have at home
You will need a rectangle at least 3 inches by 10 to make one tulip
There is some sewing needed but if I can handle you can too. Grab your needle and stich right on the long side and then pull to create a little raffle and stich all together on the short side
Flip your piece inside out to hide your sewing .. I am actually really happy about it since I am not that good about it
Can you see a shape of tulip yet? we are so close to put them all together but before you need fill it up to make them look fool . I chose to use my paper towels.See below. You really don’t want to fill all the way up .. Just make sure it is 80% filled
Grab your needle and let the fun begin . I like to grab opposite sides with one move of needle . Secure that couple of times and then grab other side to create X. See pictures below
How easy is that! Tulip is all ready
Time to put all together. Love me how my drop cloth fabric tulip is coming together.
I decided to wrap my skewer that I wrapped with coffee stained drop cloth strips to work as my stem. Secure all that with a dot of a hot glue and you are all done. Your drop cloth tulips are almost done.
Just because I want to add some more details I decided to hot glue floral wire to another 2 rectangles . I just made a sandwich with floral wire. Love to be able to move my leaf the way I like . Wire will help me for sure
And my drop cloth bunch of tulips is done! Absolute fun little detail in any space that can be at display year round.
