How to start faux feathers Christmas tree
There is something special about feathers. They automatically bring some much charackter to any decor or project. The one I am going to use are medium size and come with nice flair to them
Do you see that tiny flair on each feather at the end… They for sure will make awesome detail.
As you can see I do have a big styrofoam cone but if you dont have one you can use a sticks to form a cone or shims or even chicken wire.
Hot glue and Styrofoam dont like each other so i decided to wrap my cone with some paper towels so it is easier to work later
Original tree that i spotted at Home Goods had straight feather that I also have but I was afraid I may not have enough. Plus I was curious now what those smaller ones will make.
Not going to lie a was a bit afraid that it will take me years to put all together so I thought I would use a piece of feather boa to make at least bottom of my tree fuller. It did help me a bit to make my White Whimsical tree look better but that beautiful flair on feathers wasn’t showing that much so I had actually extra work. Make sure to press your rows of feathers after hot glue cools off to keep nice shape of it

As you can see whole process of making faux feathers tree was super easy. It seams making decision about its topper and base was harder. Just because I wanted my tree to be high wooden candle stick was it so that means a gold star is my choice I am afraid. Love the bling too but it will be saved for next tree since I have enough feathers to make at least one more white tree or even 2
Little bit of liquid gold just to accent a bit feathers and I think I am all done. My white whimsical Christmas tree is done.
