Items you need to make 3D Gold Easter Eggs
- plastic eggs medium size
- chalk paint or any paint you like
- gold spray paint
- some ribbon (optional)
- small creatures of your choice
Shall we start our Spring Decor idea ?
Here are my pieces that I gathered around the house. I am so glad my daughter loved mini pet shop figurines! Now I can preserve them for life into our Spring Easter decor.
Let’s begin our project with painting plastic eggs since this will take the longest. In my case it took 3 coats of my acrylic chalk paint to cover egg deep tones. I am more then positive that light colored eggs will not take as many coats.
Let’s paint
As our first coat of paint dries on the eggs let’s have fun with some spray painting
One coat of gold spray paint will be plenty to cover our little figurines
you will need to agree with me that 2 coats don’t look too good … so it is time to add one more
Love how “chalky” my plastic Easter eggs look now but connection line completely takes it all away in my eyes so I decided to cover that with very thin leftover white ribbon. Pier1 eggs that I was inspired by didn’t have that but they cost much more … My eggs are budget friendly version of them. Ribbon will for sure add some additional detail but will not take away from our gold figurines. Hot glue gun with glue sticks helped me secure my ribbon to the egg.
Love how my Easter eggs turned out! Don’t you? Starting to love me some my Easter DIY
Exciting portion is just about to happen !!! Our little figurines are going to be finally attached.
What a fun part!! I decided to hot glue them in different places just for fun … some are on the side, some are on the tippy top and some are just there on our ribbon.
Love Love Love …. how my Gold 3D Easter eggs turned out! Don’t you?
