How to paint Candy Corn Buffalo Check pattern
If you follow me for some time you do know that I love patterns. Love to mix them and love challenge at times they present. MacKenzie Childs and floral pattern are my favorite. You can find lots of project with that pattern on my blog HERE. Today I like to concentrate on Buffalo Check pattern in the corn style. How about that? I have seen so many napkins with that pattern so decided to give a try. Love to add to my fall decor diy ‘s fun details. Let’s learn together how to paint candy corn buffalo plaid pattern…shall we ?
Supplies needed to paint Candy Corn Buffalo Check/ plaid pattern
- flat surface
- white acrylic paint
- yellow acrylic paint
- orange acrylic paint
- sharpie black
- masking tape
Let’s paint easy fall candy corn buffalo check pattern!
Time to prep your surface. My choice was a cutout from Dollar Tree in the pumpkin shape. To make my pattern nicely show I decided to cover whole cutout with a coat of chalk paint but you can also use ceramic paint.
Time to begin to plan our pattern. Masking tape really helps with that step. You can also make your pencil lines. I like to use width of my masking tape as a guide to my pattern and all distances. My goal was to create that pattern on the angle
Make sure to watch video on my YouTube channel for all details. Just becasue I like to create candy corn buffalo check I am going to use yellow, orange and some black
My first color that I will apply is yellow followed by orange. Every color needs to be completely dry and tape removed.
Orange diagonal stripes are painted now I need to dry and concentrate on the black detail that will put all together . So in this step I am filing squares where my pattern crossed with black. Can you already see candy corn buffalo paid pattern forming?
Just to keep it even more interesting I decided to add thin double lines in between as seen below

When it comes to embellishments i think sky is the limit. I decided to use my sunflower that I picked up at the craft store but I am going to make some flowers for this project.

This project made me really re-think all pattern now. I am so divided which way I should go now.
