Garlic and Cheese Pull Apart Bread
Aren’t you surprised that I am sending your way a recipe now ? I am not the greatest cook but I can do thing or two in the kitchen too. I can see everyone is sharing their Thanksgiving recipes so I like to share one with you too. My all time favorite, perfect for all occasions and no occasion at all too …lol… is my delicious Garlic and Cheese Bread. Yumm!! Guaranteed to be the most popular side dish at any gathering. This is one the kids go NUTS over, don’t say I didn’t warn you! And grown ups turn into little kids when they get stuck into this. I would like to share with you a Thanksgiving side dish. Garlic and cheese pull apart bread
So let’s begin!
Best bread – The best bread to use for Cheese and Garlic Bread is crusty sourdough or another dense type of bread. I have made super easy No-Knead Artisan Bread that will be perfect for that recipe too. You can check that tutorial HERE
Best cheese – I really recommend using mozzarella cheese for this, you want it to stretch and pull when you tear the pieces off.
So let’s begin to make our Garlic bread .. Garlic and Cheese pull apart bread
Ingredients that you will need
- 1 crusty loaf of bread
- 1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
- BUTTER 1 stick (8 tbsp) unsalted butter , softened
- 2 large garlic cloves , minced
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley , finely chopped
Cut the bread in a strips in one direction, being careful not to cut all the way through the loaf. Rotate the bread 90 degrees and cut in the other direction.
Let’s begin!
It is like creating checker board !
Do you see how nicely it opens up?
Soften your stick of butter
Prep your garlic and parsley. As you can see I love garlic and I love it a lot so I minced some more then 2. Mix garlic and parsely with butter.
Stuff the mozzarella cheese in between the rows alternating with butter mixture. Drizzle the melted butter all over the top. Garlic and cheese bread is ready for the oven
Wrap in foil and bake at 350F for 35 minutes. Uncover and bake for another 10 min.
I am literally drooling typing this recipe…ha ha ha. It is soooo delicious! Perfect Pull apart bread. Perfect as Thanksgiving side dish
This is a great centerpiece for a dinner that could just be accompanied by a fresh salad to make a complete meal. Or as a fabulous appetizer or party food – think game day!
It’s by far the most requested party food by my family and friends so it is going to be served as my Thanksgiving side this this year. You could make it ahead and use softened butter instead of melted butter and insert it into the cracks, then stuff with cheese. Wrap and bake before serving.
But you can even bake it in advance then reheat quickly in the microwave as long as you use a crusty sourdough. The crust gets so crusty when you bake it, it stays crusty even if you reheat it in the microwave.
