I like to mix small quantities at the time so it is always fresh

  • 1 Tablespoon of Compound
  • 1 Tablespoon of Gorilla glue
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon of plaster of Paris

Kneel all together with your putty knife for a good 2 minutes until all is combined. It should be nice and smooth

Your paste should be a bit thicker then toothpaste so if it is looser you just add a bit of Plaster or Paris but NO MORE then HALF of tablespoon at the time.

Ideally you would love to leave this paste to air dry to make sure all is holding its original shape that you applied.

It can be stored in air tight container wrapped in a saran wrap for 48 hours. At least that is what I tried so far

As I mentioned this texture paste does it all! Sooo happy that i can use for so many projects! See some of my tries below

What is homemade texture paste made of?

Homemade texture paste is usually made using ingredients like joint compound, baking soda, paint, or glue to create a thick mixture that adds raised texture to art and DIY projects.

Yes! Many DIY texture paste recipes cost just a fraction of store-bought modeling paste and work beautifully for craft projects.
