Dollar Tree Ornaments Makeover- DIY
Who doesn’t love to hunt for deals? Dollar Tree has plenty of those! I am positive you have seen those ornaments at Dollar Tree already. They are very shinny and colorful. I do like color but those ornaments will not fit my color palette. It is time to give them a makeover! Love all kinds of ornaments DIY !Let’s give this ornaments including Santa sleigh upscale look. Love me some Dollar Tree Christmas tree crafts
Let’s start with Dollar Tree Christmas Tree ornament DIY!
There are so many different ways to upgrade its look. I decided to take it a part. Have to be honest I was a bit skeptical… afraid of mess that will leave but to my surprise ornament is wrapped with a garland. Removal it was fairly easy and mess free.
As you can see base of the Dollar Tree ornament is plastic that I am so happy about! My projects will be much easier now!
Sparkly garland to my surprise wasn’t glued at all. It was just very tightly wrapped around those side prongs.
I had so many ideas on how to re-decorate that tree but because I am working on my chunky yarn blanket my daughter suggested to go with yarn.
Instructions are super easy… simply wrapping yarn all around.. If you are going to use loopy yarn like mine I would suggest to wrap double in between each prong to make sure nothing is showing.
Make sure all your loops are over each row and not covered. Wow I am really happy how this Dollar Tree ornament is turning out now. No hot glue needed! When you get to the tree trunk use different yarn and wrap same way.
It look awesome ! Don’t you think? Don’t have many decorations out yet but some delicate string of light will for sure add additional interest. Do you think we need a topper? Dollar Tree has plenty of those too at their store. Let’s try it … shall we?
I really love what I see! Don’t you agree? Can’t wait to add some light and see that Dollar Tree Christmas Tree ornament at night!
Dollar Tree Santa Clause Sleigh Makeover
It is time to give an upscale look to Santa Sleigh now! Hopefully it will be as easy as Christmas Tree
Well, I tried to approach that sleigh ornament same way as a tree but that wasn’t as easy. All was really tight secured by sleigh blades. I had no choice then completely take it a part as you see on the picture below.
Let’s begin our Dollar Tree Christmas Santa sleight craft! I am really not a big fan of that gold so spray painting lightly will be my way to go. I used Krylon spray paint Looking Glass in silver
Didn’t cover it completely, just few sprays so little of gold was still showing through. As our sleigh blades are drying it is time to work on other parts of that ornament
Wrapping with yarn wasn’t easy as it was with tree because prongs are far apart. I didn’t want to use same yarn and maybe I should …. Hopefully with the trim I have in mind for the sleigh all will look good at the end. All what I did was to wrap a sleigh from top to the bottom and then wrap again from left to right.
It is not perfect but fur will help for sure to elevate that ornament DIY. And look someone is already really comfortable there! My PINE CONE GNOME is really rocking it! Love it!!

These are really beautiful! I wouldn’t exactly call this a true tutorial because you skip a lot of steps and it would be hard to follow!
