Whimsical Glass Angel

On my last trip to Dollar Tree last week I spotted some plastic pegasus  that for some reason draw my attention so I grabbed  couple. Had completely no plan what I am going to do with them until today. How funny that it took several days to see some of their details. All of a sudden I noticed detail on their wings. I knew right and then then those will make perfect angel wings so now I went all around my crafting stash looking for some ideas for my Angel. Are you ready to make super cute whimsical glass Angel with me ? Hope we can be successful in this Dollar Tree angel diy

Supplies needed to make a glass Angel

Let’s make Whimsical Glass Angel

Ok … all is gathered and now it is time to put all to use. My plan is to use glass vase as a body Not going to lie I was a bit confused how I should use my Dollar Tree glass vase as body. I think it is perfect but my problem was with my angel head. Couldn’t find anything that will be proportionate. They only size i found were styrofoam balls that size were perfect but a bit bumpy.

Even thoug I made no decision about my angel head I still went on project and begin to remove pegasus wings. Thank Goodness for my scissors it was a breeze. Those are THE MUST TO HAVE. GET YOURS HERE

Made sure that I was so close with my fantastic scissors it its body to make that nice cut and use its wings in its full potential

As you can see wings are cut and its time to try some options that will serve as a angel head. As I mentioned before styrofoam ball would work but it was too bumpy .. ping pong ball was perfect but tooo small so guess what .. Like with everything i spotted in my stash another glass container also from Dollar Tree. I had another plan for it but hey look how perfect that angle will look with ping pong ball

Decision Time

Wooden ball would work too .. so guess what … we have a plan. Time to paint! Yes I could leave glass not painted but i wanted to add some drama later . In order to make sure my paint stays on my angel first you need to apply coat of Mod Podge dry all well and paint with either chalk paint or acrylic

Let’s try things up to make sure all is good and it seams all is perfect! yay . I can already see this whimsical angel coming together

Decision is made and ping pong ball will be my angel head. On my last trip to Walmart i was lucky to find some angel hair that you should use for your tree which I love but today I am going to use it as my angel hair. It is soo smooth and silky. Of course I could use yarn or macrame cord but why not try new things.

It is time to think head. As you can see here I decided to make a pig tails but for this angel I wanted to go plain. All details HERE

Decided to tie with wire in the middle of its cluster and hot glue it to my ball. Not going lie it was a bit staticky but with gently dampen fingers and bit of hot glue tiny dots it was all corrected

Little bit of scissors action and hair looks much better. Decided to form a little halo out of wire and all started to come together for now till I find something better

Little bit of feathers that I had lying around and I was done
