Whimsical Framed Christmas Wreath
If you follow me for some time you do know that I like to recycle and reuse some of my favorite pieces. This project is not any different. To tell you the truth this project came to my mind as I was shopping in our local Home Goods. I fell in love with a little fella .. actually 2 of them. Those little elfs came home with me since I couldn’t make a decision. What is new..lol .. it is so hard for me to leave things behind…lol I know it sounds weird but it is what it is. At that moment I knew that one of them will be a part of my grapevine Christmas wreath for my fireplace. My goal is to make framed Christmas wreath . Are you ready for some whimsical Christmas decoration crafting?

Let’s make Whimsical Framed Christmas wreath
Ok, let’s start from the beginning. In this project I am going to be working on upgrading 2 items out of which 1 is on the display. My goal was to make a wreath for my my family room fireplace. I do already have nice and big picture frame on it that I like to change a bit every season. It is going to be its 4th makeover. For some reason I absolutely love framed wreaths.
Check HERE to see my holiday picture frame humbly beginnings. It is for sure a staple in my family room
My choice this time for this big picture frame was grapevine wreath. It is for sure something new for me on this picture . As you can see there are still some decor left on it but they are easy to remove or maybe leave it since they are magnolias. You can see that wreath HERE. I am not a wreath maker but love to try and of course learn… ha that is awesome idea !
if you follow me for some time you do know that I love to make flowers. Check some of them HERE on my BLOG
Magnolia’s are one of the flowers I made out of different materials. HERE is my burlap version
Since I had few garlands on hand including lambs ear I decided to cut all up and begin make my new grapevine Christmas wreath. Just because I am using grapevine it is easier to put all together with pieces then wrapping it all around. Hot glue and floral wire was a great help. I am so excited for my new Whimsical Christmas decoration
I added some pine picks to bring some volume and all is starting to shape up together…lol and Yes I do assemble all on the floor. It is for sure easier for me.
Not going to lie those magnolias look awesome but will they fit with my elf ?
Time to frame my Whimsical Christmas wreath with elf
As you can see he is not a small fella..lol.. Well we can at least try but before I do that I need to place my wreath on my picture frame . Not going to lie I am super excited about my Whimsical Christmas decoration with elf as hero. I do miss those days when I had to move my nutty elf every night for my kids to have fun
Little bit of red berries and of course flowers and my wreath looks pretty good in a frame.Super pleased that pattern I painted in the fall for my fall display works for Christmas too!! Yay!! Make sure to check blog post to see how this frame has changed since last Christmas. Love Love love its black background!
What a change right! My fall wreath inspired by Mackenzie Childs pattern was so tiny but I loved it.
Well, there are some changes for sure are happening. My original choice for my elf changed too.It seamed that my green fella was blending too much with my greenery so I decided to use THE OTHER ONE that was a bit brighter I am so glad I bought them both! Super excited about my Christmas wreath with elf!
Look how happy he is ! Absolutely love my Grapevine Christmas wreath now.
To make sure that elf was not hurt in this process i decided to use my floral wire to secure him on my wreath by simply strapping him at the waste to my grapevine wreath. Hot glue was not used since next year I may use him in different area
I think I am done with my Christmas wreath with elf and its time to clean all up and make some pictures for you and think how am I going to decorate my fireplace around that new beauty
