Let’s make Vintage like homemade Christmas ornaments
Just because I have plenty Dollar Tree ornaments laying around so it was no brainer to use one of their biggest ones for the project. To make things easier I decided to poke skewer into opening to make my work much easier
My goal here was to bring some texture not only with paint but also on overall ornament too. If you follow me for some time you know that I love napkins and I am not big on wasting even napkin plies. Decided to use my napkin plies as my texture
Always look for a ways to put my napkin ply’s to use. There are so many project I have made. Check some of them HERE
Directions are super easy .. apply good amount of Mod Podge to your ornament and cover it with you napkin ply… Create as many wrinkles as you can.. How fun is that !
When your napkin plies dry it is time to cover with chalk paint and see beautiful wrinkles…lol Let’s not forget we are making aged Vintage Christmas ornament
My homemade vintage Christmas ornament is looking better and better. All is dry and its time to put some texture paint to use and have fun. I wanted to start easy so decided to use my skewer , paintbrush point ..whatever i had to form a base for my tree. Don’t worry if they dont look too good.. We are just building up now When you get your tree ready let that texture paint dry so we can move to another step
Make sure to watch video to see how I struggled HERE
All is try to its time to put hot glue gun to use. It is time to add another layers to shape up our homemade Vintage Christmas ornament . In this step I like to add straight branches but dont worry that you can see it yet. I like to come back to my tree couple of times to add more hot glue layers. Each one of them need to cool off so tree stays nice and 3D
This process is so rewarding .. It is time to see our art. Chalk paint or any paint will for sure help us out with this part
It for sure doesn’t look like Dollar Tree Christmas ornament anymore after of course a bit of gold paint I added
