I have made soo many of them soo far out of different materials . Will for sure list below for you in this post. On my last Etsy shopping spree I found nice rustic bed springs so I decided to put them to work in this FALL crafting project. Let’s have fun creating some fun rustic fall home decor piece!

Items needed to make a Scarecrow
- styrofoam ball
- bed spring
- rag or drop cloth
- burlap ribbon wide
- hot glue gun and glue sticks
- acrylic paint
OK, accessories are together so it is time to get going . I have made that scarecrow with my friends on Facebook live but it was soo cute I decided to put this all together in the blog post and then video that will be for sure shorter.
Styrofoam ball that I had on hand had those little bumps on it so I decided to put some speckling into use to smooth it out a bit but of course it it optional. As you can see my specking turned my ball into pink but that will change as it dries .
My ball is dry so it is time to paint it to give nice background to a scarecrow skin. I chose Apple Barrel Sunkissed Peach . As my styrofoam ball was drying I decided to cut up my drop cloth into little strips to create my scarecrow body.
How to make scarecrow hat easy
Didn’t want to fuss much about my scarecrow hat so I decided to cut a circle out of my burlap and for the hat rim. Upper portion for his hat will form 3 long triangles. My plan was to glue them together and insert in the middle of my circle
Just to add even more ragged look I decided to add some of raffia on the side. Raffia makes all look soo good! My hat is done! It was super easy scarecrow hat diy don’t you think so ?
Now it is time to assembly all together and put those bed springs into cute fall craft! As I mentioned before I like to use my bed spring as scarecrow body so I decided to tie my pieces of drop cloth to the rim of a spring.
Painting face of my scarecrow wasn’t easy … I am simply not good at it so look on the side of this picture how many tries I had. My facebook friends were super helpful in this process. Love them to pieces! If you don’t follow my page yet here is the link. We are super busy there! Join me for lots of fun!
