Enchanted Denim Dragonfly
Ever wonder what to do with all those leftover denim scraps? 🧵 This DIY denim dragonfly is one of my favorite upcycled crafts — made with fabric I had on hand, a little napkin magic, and just enough sparkle to make her fly. Whether you’re a fan of scrap fabric projects or just love turning trash into treasure, this whimsical dragonfly is a fun, beginner-friendly way to add handmade charm to your decor. I’m sharing a full video tutorial and a free printable wing template to help you make your own version — sparkle optional. 🐉✨ Let’s make quick diy denim dragonfly craft
I made this dragonfly using an old pair of jeans I had tucked away, but you can use any scrap denim or canvas-type fabric you have on hand. See that option at the end of this blog post.
I love taking leftover scraps and turning them into something unexpected — and this enchanted denim dragonfly is exactly that. 🐉💙

🧵 Supplies You’ll Need to make Jean Dragonfly
- Denim scraps (cut from old jeans or fabric stash)
- Wood beads
- wire for wing shaping
- Gold paint or any color you like
- Hot glue gun Scissors Wire (optional for shaping)
- Bling or buttons for embellishments

All my favorite bling including crowns I love to use on all projects including my enchanted denim dragon are all in my Amazon Store HERE
What I love most about this project is how simple materials can turn into something that feels detailed and special. The denim gives it that soft, worn texture, while the beads and sparkle bring just enough contrast to make it stand out.
It’s one of those pieces that looks like it took a lot more effort than it actually did — and those are always my favorite kind 🤎
Magic of my denim butterfly was inspired by some sparkle and vintage buttons box I have

I do have a step by step video below … so make sure to see it

Over time, I’ve turned denim scraps into so many different projects — from flowers to home decor — and this dragonfly is just one of my favorites.
It’s amazing how one simple material can turn into something completely different depending on how you use it.
Here are a few other denim projects I’ve made:
• denim hydrangea flowers
• a rustic denim basket
• decorative denim accents (like bows or wraps)
