Dollar Tree Whisk Makeover (Dragonfly Decor with Book Pages)
Sometimes the simplest things turn into something unexpected 🤍✨ This delicate piece started as a simple Dollar Tree whisk… and slowly became something that feels like a dragonfly… or maybe even a butterfly There’s just something about that soft, aged paper that turns even the simplest item into something that feels special. What started as a kitchen tool slowly became something that looks like a dragonfly… or maybe even a butterfly. I love projects that don’t need a plan… they just come together on their own 🤍 And if you stay with me till the end, I’ll show you a few more pieces I’ve made over time…
a couple of different dragonflies and even a butterfly 🪽
Each one has its own little personality, and they all started with the simplest materials 🤍✨
This one started with a simple Dollar Tree whisk… and turned into something that feels light, delicate

✂️ How I Made My Wisk Dragonfly
I kept this one simple and just let it come together naturally:
- I gently opened up the whisk to form the wings and cut in a middle 5th loop and threaded a bead to secure my dragonfly head

- Traced book pages and decoupaged delicate napkin on it

- Smoothed everything down and let it dry completely
- Added trim around the edges for a more finished, delicate look

- Finished the center with a decorative piece and a few beads
No exact measuring, just outlining … no pressure… just creating with what I had 🤍

✨ Why I Love Using Book Pages
If you’ve been here for a while, you know how much I love working with book pages. They’re simple, easy to find, and they instantly add that soft vintage feel that’s hard to recreate any other way. It’s one of my favorite ways to turn something ordinary into something beautiful… without needing anything fancy.

Dragonfly or Butterfly?
One of my favorite parts about this piece is that everyone sees something different.
Some see a dragonfly…
others see a butterfly 🤍
And honestly, I think that’s the beauty of creating—
you don’t always have to decide.
This is one of those projects that reminds me you don’t need a lot to create something beautiful. Sometimes all it takes is a simple idea… and letting it become what it wants to be 🤍✨
