Looking for a fun and festive DIY to brighten up your summer table? This patriotic flower candle holder is just the thing! Made with plastic spoons (yes—spoons!), pretty napkins, and a rustic wood slice, it’s an easy and affordable craft that’s perfect for Memorial Day, the 4th of July, or any red, white, and blue celebration. Whether you use it as a centerpiece or just a cute accent, it adds that handmade charm we all love! Patriotic diy candle holder .. here we go
What You’ll Need to Make Patriotic DIY candle holder
Plastic spoons Patriotic napkins (stars, stripes, florals)
Mod Podge or decoupage glue
Hot glue gun
Wood slice or cardboard circle
Scissors
Optional: jute rope or twine for a rustic finish

Directions
Step 1 – Prep Your Petals
Then separate your napkins and decoupage a layer onto the spoon heads. Let them dry fully before layering. Use different napkins for a mix of patterns and colors—this gives the flower a more dynamic and fun look. Cut the handles off the plastic spoons.

Step 2 – Arrange the Petals
Start gluing your petals in a circular pattern—divide your flower into red, white, and blue segments or mix them for a whimsical look.

Step 3 – Add the Center
Use a wood slice or wrap jute rope into a circle for the middle. You can also repurpose a candle holder, like I did in one version.

Section 2 – Arrange the Petals
Before assembling, let your decoupaged spoons dry fully. Group them by pattern—blue with stars, red textures, floral whites—for easy arranging later.

All the ‘petals’ prepped and ready to bloom! Organizing them by pattern helps with even spacing when gluing
