Corn Husk Fall Wreath DIY
Love to experiment with everyday supplies. I grew up doing so. It is so much fun to create out of almost nothing. Today I like to create a wreath out of corn husk. Few days ago I spotted a wreath on Wayfair made out of corn husk that I wanted so badly but it was sold out so I decided to make my own. Perfect fall wall decor diy at least in my eyes. I have a feeling that my fall corn husk wreath project will turn into everyday decor. How gorgeous is that wreath below! I was on the mission to make something close to it. Fall corn husk project.
Supplies needed to make a fall wreath
- hay wreath form
- stapler
- corn husk.. You can dry your own or get your own on line
- acrylic paint
- wheat
- Hot glue and glue gun
Let’s make fall wreath
There is so many ways to go around it but I thought hay wreath form was the easiest way to go around it. Got my wireless stapler and some hot glue gun and I was ready to go.
I had some corn husk that I dried on hand but I knew it I didn’t have enough for this wreath. I will plan next time for sure much better. Check HERE details how to dry your own for your crafting needs
Had no choice but to get some more on line. All I did was cut them into thirds and paint some of them with acrylic paint to bring some depth since store bought was too light
My goal was to create bones for my wreath by simply applying rows of my corn husk on the wreath positioning them sideways as you see below. I started in the top and direct my husk toward center so it covered hay nicely.
It is for sure a different way of adding embellishments onto wreath form that I am used to. This book page wreath was all about wrapping around a form over. Check all details HERE . Another wreath that I absolutely adore .
Reinforcing with hot glue here and there to make sure my staples stay put.
Not going lie .. all was filling up super nice. Hot mess express was starting to take shape
It looks a bit sad but I know where I should build up some and of course add some wheat.
Loved how all started to look as soon as little details of wheat were added. Wish I had more of them. It is so interesting how little details change its overall look.
