Book Page Lotus Flower DIY
It was way too long since I shared some flowers on my blog so its time! Don’t you think so ? It’s time to create some embellishments for Christmas gift wrapping that can later be turned into cute detail on your trays or even Christmas ornaments. Don’t you love those keepsakes? I do !How about making super cute lotus or artichoke out of book pages. We will just keep it simple. Are you ready for easy paper flower?

Supplies needed to make paper lotus
- book pages or any paper except cardstock
- wire or zip ties
How to make Book Page Lotus flower
Let’s gather your book pages or any paper that you like to use. You can even grab junk mail. I decided to use book pages and some white paper to make my paper flower. Check how awesome that flower is. It looks complicated but trust me it is soo easy.
Grab your paper of your choice and get into a rectangles. Just because I was using book pages that are 5 x 7 I just folded mine into fourths and cut them.
You will need 16 rectangles
Steps to fold your paper into lotus
- fold your rectangle in half
- open and fold each half into the center ( you are making sort of acordion)
- open all up and fold each side to the middle
- fold all back again
Time to group all so we know we got all 16 pieces done. As you can see I have 4 groups of 3 folded book page pieces and 1 in white paper
Fold each paper grouping into stacks and hold them side by side . Can you see our easy paper flower coming together yet?
Tie all carefully with zip tie or wrap with wire in the middle leaving some tails for easy install on gift bags
Bend your book pages groupings to assign your locust parts as shown below
Start opening each arm to reveal gorgeous book page lotus flower. Take your time as paper is fragile at a the pulling moment. As you get to the last layer of paper leave last row open up straight to create a base sort of like leaves. Love this Christmas paper flower a lot.
