Arched Dollar Tree Mirror Vintage Patriotic Makeover

You know those famous arched mirrors from Dollar Tree everyone is hunting for?

Well, I had one. I had plans for it. Big plans.

But before I could even lift my paintbrush… it cracked. 😅

It didn’t fall.

I didn’t drop it.

It just cracked on its own — like it knew I’d figure out something unexpected.

And that’s exactly what I did. I listened to my project and it lead me

🛍 Supplies I Used:

  • Dollar Tree arched mirror (cracked but still beautiful)
  • Patriotic napkins from my store HERE
  • Tacky glue
  • Reverse decoupage technique Mold embellishments (like my 1776 tag)
  • Optional: Frosted glass spray or wax to reduce glare

I already disstressed a while back but never finished this frame but .. then project spoke

Clue number 1 .. Napkin behind my broken glass

I could work with that ! Have your reverse decoupage on glass ? See details HERE for more reverse decoupage ideas

Sometimes it just takes a little crack… and a little napkin…
to spark something beautiful.

This project wasn’t planned.
It just whispered, “Now’s the time.”
And once I started, I couldn’t stop. (You know how that goes. 😂)

So if you’ve got a pile of unfinished ideas sitting somewhere — maybe today’s the day one of them starts talking to you too.

Choosing napkin was the worse ! I liked them all but one won Grab your set of patriotic napkins in my store HERE

So my napkin was way too smaller even dinner size that my Dollar Tree Arched frame so I made my own. I exlained all in a video below

So I decided to use my tacky glue to glue my pieces together

Choosing embelishments for my project were super difficult .. Tried to use my denim flowers i made last week or hot glue rose but nothing was working for me untill I found some tags I had on hand always

If you missed that week of hot glue crafting and that rose see HERE

Decision was made .. to use tag that i had on hand pressed from my mold for other craft

🧡 What Do You Do With a Broken Mirror?

You turn it into art with a story. I used reverse decoupage, a vintage napkin, layered textures, and some patriotic touches — including a ladybug with a crown (because yes, we’re fancy like that 👑🐞).

The result?

A layered, timeworn look that still sparkles, even without the reflection.

🎯 Tips If You Want to Try This:

Use tacky glue or hot glue to secure glass fragments carefully Decoupage behind the glass while it’s still slightly damp for better adhesion Distress the backing to give it that “old garden mirror” vibe Frame it like art — not a mirror — and embrace the imperfection

Let me know what you’d do with a broken mirror…

Because I say: if it’s cracked, it’s just getting started 💥

Save it for later
