Brown Paper Folded Christmas Tree

Ready for easy origami Christmas tree? I so hope you will enjoy my take on budget friendly Christmas decor. I grew up crafting out of nothing so here is a tree I used to make with my Mom around holidays and for holidays. Are you ready to fold some paper with me? Trust me it is so easy and super elegant. Simple Christmas origami coming your way You can make this project out of any material. I used make them out of newspaper or book pages back in Poland but today I like to use my grocery store brown bag. Perfect project to make with your kids for the holidays.

Supplies needed to make a Christmas Tree

  • brown paper bag
  • hot glue gun
  • embellishments of your choice

How to make easy origami folded paper Christmas tree

Are you ready to have fun with brown paper? Let’s craft as i used to do growing up. Trust me this project is so easy to make that can be done with kids but at the same time it is super elegant that you will love to display at your house.

Cut your paper into rectangles. I would say you would need at least 20 of them. MIne were roughly 6×8

  • fold in half on the longer side
  • open and fold each corner to the middle as shown on picture 2
  • fold your folded corner again to the half as it shows in picture 3
  • repeat same steps on the other half of paper . YOu should end up with sort of airplane in picture 4
  • fold all together in half and you are DONE

Fold all pre-cut paper rectangles



When you paper is folded line them up and even out its base by simply cutting bottom. We need to have same shape

How easy was that but I would suggest to watch video below recapping all details. You can fold this tree all different ways. you can expose its folds as it shows on picture 2 or just fold backs . I chose for this tree option from picture 1

I decided to add a bit of hot glue to edges of my folded tree and begin to build accordion with it .



It goes soo fast ! I always like to close here and there to see if I need to add some more. I like my tree to have almost closed folds.



and the Brown paper Christmas tree is done! How easy it was this paper crafting. It will stand perfectly the way it is but I wanted to elevate it a bit and used a container that I had left from succulents

just because i was using brown paper bag to make one I decided to add some sheer ribbon and of course greenery from my yard with some book page roses.
