Supplies needed to make string art winter star
This one is my all time favorite that I have made to a day. Yes you really don’t need nails to make string art project. Grabe embroidery hoops and have fun. Make sure to check full tutorial on that project HERE. Can you believe that I use cookie cutter to make this project?
String Art Winter Star
How cool is that star. I bet you are thinking now .. it is very difficult to make which is not true. Key to this project is to mirror each side of your star arm
String art pattern
To make things super easy grab an ornament or print out a star from google to have same star arms to make sure project is successful.
Just because I am going to deal with white yarn for my star I painted my surface black so star will be showing perfectly. Use your pencil to outline your shape
Grab your hammer or I also use my meat tenderizer and start with outlining points of the star so it is easier to get distance on each arm of our star.
Add same amount of nails on each side of your star arm at the similar distance as it shown below . Make sure that nails are nicely attached to your surface. We wouldn’t want for them to come loose as we make our star
Tie a knot on the yarn and hook its loop on the highest point of your star template.
Bring it all the way down to the lower point of your star.
Continue in the same manner until all nails are strung
Make sure to push your yarn down as you string so nothing get loose. Make sure also to keep nice resistance to a yarn as you string along
