Sauerkraut salad is a deliciously tangy and vibrant dish that you’re going to fall in love with. With its combination of red onions and other ingredients it delivers a delightful crunch in every bite!
Ingredients
- jar of sauerkraut. 32oz
- 3 tablespoons of good olive oil
- 1 medium size onion white or red chopped fine
- 1 medium size carrot peeled and grated
- 1 teaspoon of granulated sugar
- half of peeled apple chopped
- salt and pepper
- parsley or dill
You can store your sauerkraut salad for a week in a sealed container as needed. It is acutely better next day because all is just nicely settled
I usually try to use a red onion to bring even more color to my salad. I just use what I have on hand …

Tangy side dish - sauerkraut salad
Ingredients
- jar of sauerkraut. 32oz
- 3 tablespoons of good olive oil
- 1 medium size onion (white or red ) chopped fine
- 1 medium size carrot peeled and grated
- half apple chopped
- 1 teaspoon of granulated sugar
- salt and pepper
- parsley or dill
Instructions
- Drain juices from sauerkraut
- Chop all vegetables
- add 3 tablespoons to your sauerkratut
- Mix all ingredients together
- Serve cold
