Halloween Pumpkin DIY Dot
Well, This project happened all by accident… I didnt even wanted to buy it since I don’t decorate for Halloween . One day on my weekly trip to Target I spotted black and white pumpkin . You know I love black and white so it was no brainer I had to grab it just because I knew I could jazz it up to my likings. As I reached to get “my pumpkin” I noticed there was another black one with ghost on it. It was cute but I have no little kids so thought I may need to paint it different color and cover ghost especially when they were different sizes and shapes. I was sooo wrong so buckle up and let’s work on Halloween pumpkin. Let’s make diy with dots! Love this Target dollar spot pumpkin makeover. Perfect fall diy to try
Supplies needed to make dot painting
- dotting tool
- acrylic paint
- pumpkin
- embellishments
My obsession with dot painting started with one rainy day…lol. I was looking for some sparks in the dark day so took my dotting tool and decided to have fun with some leaves. Loved it so much so that I started to look around the house what else I can dot..lol Check those gorgeous leaves I practiced on! All details HERE
As you can see my pumpkin from Target dollar spot was a perfect candidate..lol Nothing is wrong with it but I knew it will be perfect piece to practice my dots.
How to doodle dot paint
I am not an expert in dot painting but love to share what works for me. One most important tip with paint dotting is to find your grip with amount of paint on your dotting tool so dotting lots on piece of paper is really important. Second tip that I can give you is not to touch your surface with your tool .Let paint distribute itself to perfect circle.
As you can see my diy dots halloween pumpkin has all different dots but I am so ok with it. It takes time to master them but I am having fun
As you can see I dotted my ghost all round with white dots but then decided to mirror dot inside of my fall diy with black dots. Don’t you think it looks pretty cute. Love me my Target dollar spot pumpkin makeover already.
yes I could actually do a mandala like design all around pumpkin but I decided to use easy way out and concentrate on the pattern on each section of pumpkin. Don’t you think that gives my Halloween pumpkin diy different looks
Not going to lie it took me a little while to make it but I was having so much fun doodle dot all around. Little bow and some bling and i see cuteness overload. Don’t you agree ?
