Supplies needed for this patriotic decoupage project
- metal flower
- Mod Podge
- lighter
- napkins that have red white and blue patterns on them or simply THIS ONE
Napkin decoupage technique
This is the flower I am going to be working with .There is nothing wrong with that flower but i needed to make it my own.
As you can see there are lots of indentations that brings more character to it so I cant wait to see how it will look with napkins on it
Just because I decided to decoupage on this flower .. fresh coat of white paint is a must. I like to use chalk paint with my decoupage projects. Its like creating clean canvas ready to have fun with
Just because I am always experimenting I decided to use random napkins that have red white and blue in it. I ended up choosing blue napkin with some white daisies on it and then a picking napkin with red and white pattern on its edges
My goal was to keep blue ones on the third of my flower to the left like it is on American flag and then red and white everywhere else
We got a plan so now its time to put some Mod Podge to use in this fun patriotic decoupage of metal flower.
There are some tips I do do want to give you when decoupaging with fire
- remove napkin ply’s
- apply mod podge evenly on the edges of your project
- use saran wrap to secure your napkin smoothly to surface
- leave small flyaways so fire is small
- have water on hand just in case
