Dollar Tree Scarecrow. Easy Strainer and Paper Bag Craft
Fall decorating doesn’t have to be expensive — sometimes the simplest, scrappiest supplies turn into the cutest projects! This little scarecrow is proof. 🥰 Made from a Dollar Tree strainer and a brown paper bag, he’s a budget-friendly craft that adds charm to your fall decor.
This project is quick, fun, and perfect for adding a handmade touch to your porch, centerpiece, or mantel.

✨ Supplies You’ll Need
1 Dollar Tree strainer
1 brown paper bag
Black paint White paint (for the eyes)
Orange paint (for the beak)
Hot glue gun & glue sticks
Raffia or straw Faux sunflower or fall floral pick Scissors

🪄 Instructions
Paint the Strainer Cover the strainer with black paint and let it dry completely. Add the Face Use white paint to make two big round eyes. Then add an orange triangle for the beak. (You can freehand or sketch lightly first.) Make the Hat Cut and crumple a brown paper bag to form a floppy scarecrow hat. Glue it in place on top of the strainer. Add Raffia “Hair” Hot glue raffia or straw under the hat so it sticks out like messy scarecrow hair. Decorate with a Sunflower Glue a faux sunflower (or any fall flower you have on hand) to the hat for a pop of color. Display & Enjoy Place your scarecrow on a pedestal, shelf, or porch to bring instant fall charm.

💡 Tips & Variations
Swap the sunflower for mini pumpkins or leaves for a different look. Use fabric scraps instead of a paper bag for a sturdier hat. Kids can help paint the face and crumple the paper bag!
