This coffee filter pumpkin DIY is one of those easy fall projects that looks much more detailed than it really is. I layered and ruffled coffee filters to create the pumpkin, then added a few pretty embellishments and displayed it inside an old frame.

It’s soft, neutral, a little shabby chic, and such a fun way to use inexpensive supplies for fall decorating.

Supplies

Coffee filters
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Scissors
Frame or decorative backing
Ribbon
Pearls or small embellishments
Decorative knob or pumpkin stem
Optional: coffee or tea for staining the filters

How to Make a Coffee Filter Pumpkin

Start by preparing your coffee filters. I like the soft vintage look, so you can leave them natural or lightly stain them with coffee or tea and let them dry.

Fold and gather the filters to create lots of ruffled texture. Layer them together until you begin forming a rounded pumpkin shape.

Once you’re happy with the fullness, glue the layers securely to your backing or frame.

Finish the top with ribbon, pearls, a pretty knob, or whatever little treasures you already have in your craft stash. This is where you can really make it your own.
