Vintage Book Page Egg DIY
There’s something beautiful about watching a thick old book slowly transform into something sculptural Flat pages. Stacked bulk. Then curve. Then dimension. If you’ve made my book page pumpkin before, this egg uses the same concept — but the shape is softer and more refined for spring. Are you ready to make with me vintage upcycled book page Easter egg craft for your table as a centerpiece?
And the most important part? You must start with bulk. Start With At Least 200 Page. Before tracing anything, gather the bulk of your book to one side.

Supplies needed to make a Book Page Egg
- book page with at least 250 pages
- craft knife get one HERE or roller
- hot glue gun with glue sticks
- embellishments of your choice
For this project, I recommend using a book with at least 250 pages book of any height
Why? Because fullness matters.
If you don’t have enough pages, your egg will look sparse with visible gaps between layers which are ok too .. it is just a preference. This is not a thin paperback craft — it’s a sculptural piece.I craft with my books often, so sometimes mine are already getting thinner. That’s why I always check the thickness first before committing to the cut.

Create Your Egg Shape or download one HERE
Fold your egg template in half and outline close to book core

When drawing your own. Make sure the top gently tapers. The middle stays rounded. The bottom is softly curved — not flat. That subtle taper is what makes it an egg and not a pumpkin.

Trace and Begin Cutting Once your template is in place: Then begin cutting through the entire stack. If your tools are sharp it will be a breeze. That part takes a patience but it is so worthy at the end
As you continue cutting deeper into the bulk, you’ll start to see the egg shape forming along the edge.

This is the moment where it stops looking like a book and starts looking like something dimensional.
Watch the Transformation Happen. When every page is cut, gently open the book.
You’ll see the rounded shape begin to appear. The more pages you started with, the fuller this reveal feels. This is why I always say. Start with bulk.

Connect the First and Last Page to complete the egg with a bit of hot glue or school glue. Whatever you have handy
Add a thin line of glue to the very first cut page. Bring it to meet the last cut page. Press gently. Open slowly.
And suddenly, your egg stands on its own.

I love projects that begin with something ordinary. An old book. A little patience. A simple ribbon. And suddenly it becomes something that feels timeless for spring. If you make one, I would love to see it.
