Love to browse thrift Stores to look for treasures that I can adapt to my house. On my last trip to our local thrift store I found awesome turtles! Love turtles! The ones I found seem actually pretty good the way there were but I thought I could give them a makeover and use them as door stoppers in my house. Not that I need to stop my doors but love to have fun accents around. I am thinking some rub on transfers accents… some MacKenzie Childs patterns. As you can see that they look pretty good and I am positive they would make some fun garden decor too but you know me .. I love to experiment!
Love turtles and love to have them around. I am on the hunt to find this one with pattern in it like in a picture on the side. I know I will find it one day but in a meantime I will add my own patterns
There are so many ways i want to decorate those turtles to fit my home decor. If you follow me for some time you know I love MacKenzie Childs patterns so I know one will be made that way.

As with everything .. its time to cover this vibrant color on turtle shell. Chalk paint was my choice since I wanted to possibly leave turtle feet same
I think for now it was best to leave head and feet not painted. Let the project pick next step

i was thinking at some point throughout this project to add a rub on transfer but then I remembered I have one more turtle

Rub on door stopper transfer diy
Even though black and white is my all time favorite .. I decided to turn my second budget friendly diy into white and blue treasure. I have plenty transfers but this blue one was speaking to me so I went for it
Of course there will be no project without squeezing some patterns. Decided for this turtle to have its sides finished off with courtly check

Love those liquid gold leaf details on my thrifted turtle feet. Dont know yet if I should paint head too… Will for sure leave for some time blue till project speak to me
