Skin-on Mashed Potatoes
Mashed potatoes don’t need to be fancy to be good.
I make mine the way my mom taught me — partially peeled, skin on, mashed with milk, sour cream, and just a little garlic. How about making easy skin-on mashed potatoes
They’re thick, rustic, and full of flavor.
Not watery. Not whipped. Just comforting mashed potatoes that feel like home.

Ingredients
- Potatoes (washed well, partially peeled)
- Butter
- Salt
- Milk
- spoon of sour cream

How I Make Mashed potatoes

Cut the potatoes into chunks and boil until fork-tender.
Drain well and mash while still hot. Add butter and salt first. Add milk or sour cream a little at a time until creamy but still rustic. We’re a milk and sour cream family when it comes to mashed potatoes.
We like them thick — almost mashed — not watery

I don’t over-mash them — I like a few pieces of skin and texture. Sometimes I add a little garlic — just enough to warm the potatoes, not overpower them.
Garnish with some parsley or baby scallions to add some color
