Shabby Chic Wooden Heart
If you follow me for some time you do know I love textures and details .. So this wooden heart is a good example of it. We will walking through crackle , emboss and wax technique I used . Supplies needed for this project
- clear and brown wax
- Elmers Glue or Mod podge
- chalk paint get it HERE
- acrylic paint
- stencils …. My favorite are Tim Holz .. SEE HERE
- paste GET IT HERE
- embossing powder GET IT HERE
- heat gun
- brushes

To begin this shabby chic wooden heart makeover I decided to start with crackle. No special products needed .. just paint and school glue or even Mod-Podge

Just because I still liked to emboss on my heart I decided to wax first to age and protect my crackle . Couple layers of dark wax that you can buff with paper towels or cloth neutralized by clear wax was the way to do it

Embossing is just another technique that brings awesome detail. I have decorated so many thrifted pieces with bits of it
You will need to get a texture paste and embossing powder. You could buy a ready made texture paste but you can also make one. Grab recipe HERE I always seem to have ingredients to make one asap at home vs waiting for delivery of ready made one
Grab your favorite stencils and have fun decorating your way. Make sure to work in little spaces so your paste stays nice and crips . Check all details HERE how to emboss on the wood
