How to Paint on Fall Leaves
Have you ever try to paint on fall fallen leaves yet? I just did and so love it! This project was on my to do list for the longest time ever! I think I am hooked on it! Like really hooked. It all started with my new toy I got. Mandala dotting tool is so cool. Have you ever dot paint before? Well, I always loved patterns so I knew I would love it. Let’s make fun fall decor diy out of materials Mother Nature provided me with. How about reverse canvas fall wall decor diy
It all started with me practicing on the piece of the paper but hey I learned.. Will for sure share some tips with you all in the different post. I have tried to dot on all different surfaces and love it! Make sure to check details about those on my blog.

How to paint on fall leaves
I can’t tell you what tree those leaves came from but i love them. They are super thick and easy to handle. To make sure that my leaf surface is flat I decided to iron them first. It was super easy. .. sandwich your leaf between parchment paper and you are all set. It is also a good idea after you iron them to add your coat of mod podge to have your acrylic paint stick better.
Just because my leaf is not too big I decided to go with smaller tools out of my kit. I always like to start from the center and build from there. I am still in the first stages of dot painting but love to experiment and love to create my own patterns
Even though I didn’t touch my leaf with a tool dot is not really round but that is because surface of a leaf is a bit bumpy. That doesn’t bother me at all
and then I went with all different size tools around my center to create my own design
Little details here and there .. lots of fun and my little design come together. Remember to have fun paint dotting at first. Explore and have fun. Try to create your own before you go to complicated patterns
As you can see I am having so much fun paint dotting my fall leaves for my fall decor diy.

There are so many ways you can display your beautiful work.! You can make garlands, you can make wreaths but I want to create a set of 4 or maybe more picture frames that will display them. I could use nice picture frame but I wanted to go rustic but elegant so decided to frame into reverse canvas. I took my leaf Dollar Tree shopping and found few perfect size canvases.

How awesome they look! I just can’t stop! Now I need to go for walk and hunt for more cool looking leaves to have fun with to continue with my set of fall leaves
