Crepe Paper Iris
Flowers make me happy! Love to experiment with different materials and all flowers. Have made already so many and shared instructions on my blog or my YouTube channel. Today I like to show you my way of making Iris using crepe paper. It is for sure the best material out there to make all Iris details. Paper crafting is my absolute favorite crafting. Let’s make two tone iris flower.
Iris can represent faith, hope, courage, wisdom and admiration. Specific flower colors attach further meanings to the pretty blooms. Purple iris brings a message of wisdom and compliments, while a bouquet of blue iris blossoms speak of hope and faith.

Supplies needed to make 2 tone Iris
- crepe paper
- floral wire
- tacky glue or hot glue
- floral tape

How to make 2 Tone crepe paper Iris flower
Gather 2 colors of your crape paper for petals and small strip of yellow for your center
Make sure to cut your crepe paper with the grain for that project to make sure you can put all flexibility of crepe paper into flower making
Here are my 3 colors of fine crepe paper. I cut a long strips around 3 inches out of my paper and divided them in half to create rectangles that will be our starting point
Cut each rectangle on diagonal
Now you have your triangles that you need to flip as it shows bellow. Connect them with wire right on the seam.
Round off top or your iris petal and create a little flair with scissors. Gently stretch your crepe paper in both directions to create tiny ruffle
Repeat those steps 3 times to create one tone petals for the iris and then make 3 more of other color for the total of 6 petals
group your iris petals together but make sure to watch video below on some tips with that. Secure all with floral tape and shape
and your flower is done ! How gorgeous and easy it was!
