How to paint fall buffalo check plaid pumpkin step by step
Ok, let’s go to the basics.
First paint your entire surface in my case it is pumpkin solid color. I found that white background usually shows the best buffalo check
If you follow me for some time you do know I am not measuring much so i like to use painters masking tape to predict my distances. Make sure to watch video below to see me in action
Make sure your tape is nicely attached to your surface so there is no leaks. Choose your 2 colors and paint your open spaces. Start with lightest color first
Turn your surface and tape again in the other direction as we did at the beginning. Now we have another squares that are white and paint again with the same color all over again… that means lightest color
Make sure your paint is 100% dry. Don’t remove your tape because we are going to add our paint. You will clearly see lighter lines. Make sure to WATCH VIDEO BELOW
Paint exposed squares with dark color . Wait till is dry completely and remove tape and enjoy your buffalo check plaid surface
How to paint diagonal buffalo check
I had so much fun painting my pattern that I want to try it painting diagonally but this time without taping. Decided to use my giant popsicle stick to be my guide. Check pictures and VIDEO below
Paint your marked lines with lightest color as it shown below . Make sure all is dry before applying a last step. That is needed since as you can see pattern doesn’t have a depth
In the last step of our budget friendly fall diy you need to free hand areas that stripes overlap with darkest color. Don’t worry if it is a bit wonky. You can adjust your lines with dash of gold or any other color you like.
ta-daaa … little of gold details and my buffalo check pumpkin is all done!
