Wood Biscuit Wreath DIY
Well, I am so happy to share with you today several super cute projects made out of wood biscuits .. Yes you read that correct .. WOOD BISCUITS. If you follow me for some time you know that I like to craft with different materials. Crafting with them is noting new to me but for sure thanks to my fellow blogger Carol from Bee Inspired Market and her flower all was rekindled all over again. I absolutely love flowers…. love them in the vase or as embellishments in home decor projects or gift wrapping, They are my bows. Are you ready to dive in with me into wood biscuits home decor and crafting world? Let’s make a fall wreath that can easy be transformed to evergreen decor. We may also make a super easy bow
Wood biscuits can be found in any home improvement store as Home Depot or Lowes in the wood section of their stores. They help strengthen the joints in all wood projects. My husband is using them all the time! You can also get them on Amazon HERE
TODAY I LIKE TO SHOW YOU HOW I PUT THEM INTO USE IN HOME DECOR so check entire post for lots of ideas that I hope will inspire you to make something for yourself
Items needed to create a biscuits wreath
- wood biscuits
- embroidery hoop
- hot glue sticks and glue gun
- acrylic paint
- ribbon and floral picks
Let’s go to work and have fun in creative process of our wreath. I made one with my friends on Facebook but thought I would also bring to my blog.
Steps to make make a wreath
Directions are pretty easy as most crafts that I make. Gather your embroidery hoop and start to hot glue your wooden biscuits on it .. I like to overlap them slightly at the one tip to create that weaves effect. it should look like wide letter V
Here is a close up from my Live in which I was making this wreath
it takes a while to figure your layout and as you can see I wasn’t successful at the beginning but this didn’t stop me … My plan was to add a bow so this not too good looking area will be my spot for it 🙂
As you can wooden biscuits are staying nicely on my embroidery hoop. Don’t you just love easy wreaths?
Just because these are wood .. you could actually stain them a bit before installation. My goal was to slightly distress them and highlight them with my favorite DecoArt Glorious Gold!
Little bit of chalk paint really helped me with that. When my base coat dried I decided to use my fan brush that you can find in the set below and applied my glorious gold
Let’s accessorize our wood biscuit wreath!
and just like that my wood biscuit wreath is done ! All what I need to do is to decorate which is my favorite part. My original thought was to use some flowers only but on my last trip to Dollar Tree I picked up a bunch of beautiful fall picks that I decided to incorporate and create a bow that looks like flower to top all off. Look at those fall colors.. perfect for my fall wreath
Don’t you think those picks are starting to look good on my wreath? They are for sure perfect to hide my hot mess with pattern that happened as I was starting my project
I am not big bow maker but have some that I like to make so I decided to use my easy loop bow in a smaller version for my wreath. Check all details below
Don’t you think it is just perfect for this fall wreath?
My fall wreath really fits perfectly into my decor and my plantations shutters that I made few weeks ago are simply perfect! You can read more about that Shutters Project HERE
