Sticky Pork Balls: The Juiciest Mistake My Husband Ever Made

You know those days when you send your husband to the store… and he comes back with the wrong meat? Yep. I asked for ground beef. He grabbed pork. 🙃

But instead of scrapping dinner, I went with it—and ended up creating these ridiculously juicy, flavor-packed Sticky Pork Balls. Smothered in a sweet-savory glaze and served with buttery garlic rice, this meal went from “oops” to obsession.

🍴 Sticky Pork Balls Recipe

Ingredients (balls)

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 garlic cloves,
  • minced 1 tsp grated fresh ginger (optional)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 green onions
  • finely chopped Salt & pepper
  • to taste Oil for frying

Ingredients (Sticky Glaze):

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey or brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce (optional)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (slurry)

🔥 Instructions:

Mix & Shape Combine pork, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and green onions in a bowl. Don’t overmix. Roll into 1-inch balls.

Brown Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear meatballs in batches, turning to brown on all sides until mostly cooked.



Make the Glaze Remove excess oil. In the same skillet, whisk together soy sauce, honey, vinegar, and hoisin. Bring to a simmer.

Thicken Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy. Glaze the Balls Return meatballs to the pan. Toss to coat. Let simmer for 5–7 minutes, so they finish cooking and soak up flavor.

I like to toss cooked jasmine rice into a pan with butter and garlic and toss all out till it changes its color slightly
